Welcome

Welcome to St. John’s Mt. Washington.

We look forward to meeting you in person, if we haven't already.  Since 2012, we have been holding our Sunday morning worship services at Springwell Chapel in the Springwell Senior Living Community on W. Rogers Ave in Mt. Washington.  This location is about a mile from our historic church building, located at the corner of South Road and Kelly Avenue, near Mt. Washington Village.

On Sundays, when we gather for worship and fellowship we’re an eclectic group of people – all ages, races, backgrounds and even faiths. Whether we drive to Springwell, or live on its campus, we are a community. Come and see for yourself what life is like at St. John’s. We’d love to get to know you.

Our Mission

An imperfect community, connected in Christ, courageously seeking purpose through God. In a world that moves and changes so fast whether we want it to or not, one thing remains constant: the love of God in Jesus Christ.

While God’s magnificence is witnessed in a glorious sunset or the sweet smell of a newborn baby, God’s love is most fully experienced in relationship with others. When we gather to pray and sing and care for each other in the name of Christ, we become a sign to this broken world of grace and hope. Connected in Christ, we no longer feel alone and we are invited to grow into all God intends we do and be.

Worship

10:30 a.m.  Holy Eucharist*

11: 30 a.m. Fellowship and refreshments

* Also known as Holy Communion, this service is – at its most basic – the physical reenactment of Christ's Last Supper with his apostles.  Symbolically, it represents so much more: the sharing of the gifts of God with the people of God, the continued presence of Christ in our midst, and a sacred meal to which we are all invited.  If you do not wish to receive bread or wine, you may receive a blessing instead – or simply remain seated and enjoy the music and peaceful reflection.

Don’t forget to bring new or gently loved books to Springwell Chapel any Sunday or to the Spiritual Arts Center any Saturday throughout the summer. The books will fuel the love of learning in nursery though elementary-aged children at Ayaa Nursery and Primary School in Opac, Uganda.
